Whitney A. High, MD, JD, MEng, a native of Colorado, is the director of the laboratory and is board-certified in Dermatology and Dermatopathology. He also has certification in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene. After practicing as a chemical engineer in industry, Dr. High returned to medical school to receive his medical degree from the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine in 2000. Dr. High completed his dermatology residency training at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2004, serving as Chief Resident, and his dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Colorado in Denver in 2005. He has also studied tropical medicine in Central and South America.
Dr. High is appointed to the Departments of Dermatology & Pathology at the University of Colorado. He is also the Vice Chairman of Clinical Affairs in the Department of Dermatology. Dr. High also holds a law degree from the University of Denver.

Lori D. Prok, M.D. is the vice director of the laboratory and is board certified in Dermatology and Dermatopathology. She received both her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Colorado, and completed her Pediatric and Dermatology residencies at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Prok received her Dermatopathology fellowship training under the direction of Dr. James Fitzpatrick and Dr. Loren Golitz.
Dr. Prok has a unique interest in Pediatric Dermatopathology, and is the Pediatric Dermatopathologist for Children's Hospital Colorado. She has served as an Executive Board Member for the Colorado Dermatologic Society, and is an active committee member in the Society for Pediatric Dermatology. She has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, and is an author for UpToDate, other online manuscripts, and twelve textbooks on Dermatology, Pediatrics, and Pathology. She is active in presenting at national and international medical conferences, particularly on the topics of Pediatric Dermatopathology and clinical-pathologic correlation. Dr. Prok enjoys teaching, and was awarded Outstanding Clinical Instructor by the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and the Golden Stethoscope Award for medical student mentorship. She has been named a "5280 Top Doc" in Denver every year since 2011. She maintains a clinical practice in Pediatric Dermatology at Children's Hospital Colorado.
