The University of Colorado Dermatopathology Consultants perform a variety of dermatopathology services including evaluation of wet tissue (skin), consultative opinions, and direct immunofluorescence. We offer advanced immunohistochemical analysis of skin biopsies, with numerous available immunohistochemical stains and in-situ hybridization for selected disorders. Our facility is certified by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA).

Our board-certified dermatopathologists and one board-certified oral pathologist offer specific expertise in pediatric dermatopathology, evaluation of melanocytic lesions, alopecia, cutaneous lymphoma, oral pathology and analysis of foreign material in the skin.
We are active in academic research and teaching, and maintain a close relationship with the University of Colorado Department of Dermatology and dermatology residency program. The Departments of Dermatology and Pathology also offer a dermatopathology fellowship training program to qualified dermatologists and pathologists.
